Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama made Mongolian child the third biggest teacher of Buddhism
mcleodganj: Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has given China a 440-volt shock and a Mongolian baby born in the US has been named the reincarnation of the third most important spiritual leader in Buddhism. This step of the Dalai Lama is irritating to China and it is believed that with this step, he has drawn Mongolia into the India-China dispute. An eight-year-old Mongolian boy has been named the third greatest guru of Buddhism by the Dalai Lama during a ceremony in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala and his picture has now gone viral on social media. Let us tell you that the Tibetan religious leader and the 87-year-old Dalai Lama live in exile in Dharamsala and there is often a dispute between India and China about the Dalai Lama.
This eight-year-old boy of Mongolian origin has now become the third biggest teacher of Buddhism after Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama. The Dalai Lama has recognized this boy as the reincarnation of the 10th Khalkha Jetsun Dhampa Rinpoche. Mongolian media reports suggest that the child is one of twin boys named Aguidai and Achiltai Altanar, the sons of Altanar Chinchulun and Monkhnasan Narmandakh. The child’s father, Altnar Chinchulun, is a mathematics professor at a university and the CEO of the National Resource Group. The boy’s grandmother, Garmjav Seiden, is a former member of the Mongolian Parliament. The appointment of a Mongolian boy as the spiritual leader of Buddhism can fuel China’s displeasure. (hdm)
Mongolia’s entry in India-China dispute
For the people of Mongolia, these developments are a matter of both excitement and surprise. Along with this, Mongolia is also apprehensive about possible enmity with China. Earlier in 1995, when the Dalai Lama had chosen the Panchen Lama, the second highest spiritual leader of Buddhism, the child was immediately arrested by the Chinese authorities and replaced with their own candidate. Therefore, there remains a strong apprehension as to what China will do when the current Dalai Lama himself leaves his body.
