Three-way contest in Karepally Panchayat elections

In the third phase of the Gram Panchayat elections to be held on the 17th of this month, a three-way contest has become inevitable in 19 Gram Panchayats across Karepally Mandal for the 35 Panchayat Sarpanch elections. In Singareni Mandal, six Gram Panchayats out of 41 Gram Panchayats have been unanimous. The campaigning of candidates is in full swing in the remaining villages where elections are being held. In the Mandal headquarters Karepally and Bhagyanagar Thanda Gram Panchayats, 8 candidates are in the Sarpanch contest. There is a face-to-face contest in 10 Gram Panchayats. While four candidates are in the fray in two Panchayats, 5 candidates are in one Panchayat, and seven candidates are in the fray in Mangalitanda, a small Gram Panchayat.
In many villages, candidates are trying to attract voters by making impossible promises. They are being cautious in spending. As it is the agricultural work season, farmers and women are not at home all morning. Agricultural laborers are going to plant paddy and pick cotton. Due to this, candidates are campaigning from house to house in the villages from 5 am to 10 am and again from 5 pm to 9 pm.
