Those who threw dead body in the garden arrested, accused arrested after 8 years
Delhi. Police have arrested two accused in a murder case in Delhi. Both were evading police arrest since 2016. The accused have been identified as Kabir Nat alias Khalifa (25) and Bablu Nat (27). Both are residents of Samastipur district of Bihar. In 2018, the court had declared both of them criminals. On July 3, 2016, a case was registered at Ranhaula police station in connection with the body found in Sam Bazar Gomti Garden. Giving information about this, a senior police officer said, “The deceased was identified as Bandhu Rai, who was a resident of Vikas Nagar area. He worked as a contractor in Delhi.”
According to the statement of the family members, three persons, whose names are Bablu Nat, Kabir Nat and Mohammad Aslam, belong to the same village of the deceased. He had sought help from Bandhu Rai for labor work in Delhi.
All three had come to Delhi on the behest of Bandhu Rai. All three were staying in the same residence. After the murder of Bandhu Rai, all three accused absconded. The post mortem report revealed that the cause of death was suffocation. The local police made all efforts to catch the accused. The court had declared all three accused criminals on August 31, 2018. According to police officials, “Police have filed a charge sheet in the case, which names all the accused.”
According to Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Manoj C, “However, on March 22, specific information was received that two persons involved in the murder were near Najafgarh grain market. After this, a team was formed and sent to Najafgarh, where a trap was laid and both the accused were arrested. Was caught near Najafgarh grain market. During interrogation, Kabir and Bablu revealed that they all drank alcohol together on the intervening night of 2-3 July 2016.
The DCP said, “An argument took place during which the three accused persons hatched a plan to kill Bandhu Rai and loot his money. Two of the arrested accused held Bandhu Rai’s hands and legs, while the third accused, Mohammed Aslam, strangulated him and took out money from his pocket before fleeing the spot.”
