Those who stole submersible pumps and cables were arrested, Raipur police revealed
Raipur. Those who stole submersible pumps and cables have been arrested. According to the police, the accused lodged a report by giving a written application at the Silyari Police Station, Dharsiwa District Raipur that on the report of theft of submersible pump and cable from my byre of village Madhi between 06 pm on 20.01.2025 and about 06:00 am on 21.01.2025 by Thakurram Sahu and Umesh Dhruv of the same village, crime number 37/2025 under sections 303(2), 3(5) B.N.S., was registered and investigation was taken up. During the investigation on 22.01.2025, based on information from an informer, the suspects Thakurram Sahu and Umesh Dhruv were brought to the Silyari Police Outpost and upon interrogation by Hikmat Amli, they confessed that they had jumped into the byre of Janak Ram Sahu of village Madhi and stolen the bore pump and cable along with their accomplice Umesh Dhruv. Memorandum statement was taken in presence of the witnesses.
In which both are addicts of drinking alcohol, who did not have money for some days, then about two three days ago both were roaming in the village, then they saw that there was a bore in the village Janak Ram’s barn, which could be taken out with a little effort, then on 20.01.2025 at about 11:00 pm, both went inside Janak Ram’s barn where Umesh Dhruv, who had gone with a sickle, and Thakur Ram both first cut the wire with the sickle, after that lifted the bore and took the motor and after cutting the pump from the pipe and separating it and taking the cable, jumped out of the barn again, after which Thakur Ram held the pump and Umesh Dhruv held the cable and sickle, which due to it being night, they took it on foot to Rupram Verma’s field which is near the Tower Khar canal drain, where Thakur Ram Sahu hid the pump and Umesh Dhruv hid the cable and sickle by hiding them in the dry garbage in the bushes.
As per the information given by the accused, the stolen goods were seized from the dry garbage in the bushes on the farm of Ruparam Verma of village Madhi and the police took possession of it. Section 106 of the crime committed by the accused in the case in the presence of witness: 01. Umesh Dhruv father Jeevan Lal Dhruv age 32 years address village Madhi ward no. 02 outpost Silyari police station Dharsiwa district Raipur 02. Thakurram Sahu father Prabhuram Sahu age 28 years address village Madhi ward no 02 outpost Silyari police station Dharsiwa district Raipur were arrested on date 22.01.2025 respectively and information about the arrest was given to their family members, after which a check list was prepared and they were sent on judicial remand.
