Thoma Bravo close to buying Boeing’s Jeppesen unit

WORLD WORLD: Thoma Bravo is in advanced talks to buy Boeing’s Jeppesen navigation unit. The deal could be announced by the end of this week. The deal comes about a month after Reuters reported that Jeppesen had attracted interest from several private equity firms and an aerospace supplier, and was valued at more than $8 billion.
Thoma Bravo has now won the auction for Jeppesen, beating other rival firms such as TPG, Advent and Veritas. The sale is part of Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg’s strategy to simplify the company’s operations and reduce its debt.
Boeing has declined to comment, while Thoma Bravo has not yet responded. Jeppesen was bought in 2000 for $1.5 billion, and has now become an attractive asset that could be lucrative for aerospace contractors and private equity firms.
