Months of Sawan: The month of Sawan has great importance in Hinduism. This month is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is said that every wish is fulfilled by worshiping Lord Shiva with complete rituals in the month of Sawan.
This year Sawan will start from 4th July till 31st August. This year, due to the increase in the month of Shravan, it will be of two months.
According to the Hindu calendar, in the year 2023 there will be eight full Shravan Mondays instead of four. It is said that Lord Shiva gets pleased with his devotees very quickly. According to astrology, to please Bholenath in the month of Sawan, anointing with milk should be done daily. This makes them happy quickly and gives desired results to the person.
It is believed that in the month of Sawan, water should be offered to Shivling to please Bholenath. The importance of offering water to Shiva is related to the churning of the ocean. It is said that Shiva’s throat turned blue after drinking poison during the churning of the ocean. To please him, all the gods and goddesses offered him water.
