Thief arrested for breaking into house in rural area: Property worth ₹16 lakh seized

Maharashtra: Local Crime Branch has arrested a thief in rural area. Rs 16 lakh has been seized from him. There are 50 cases registered against the thief and he was recently released from jail after getting bail from the court. Subsequent investigation revealed that he had committed theft in four houses in Shripatinagar area of ​​Bhor. The arrested thief’s name is Lakhan Ashok Kulkarni alias Sachin Raju Mane (age 31, resident of Mangalvedha, Taluka Mangalvedha, District Solapur), said Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh in a press conference. Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopra, Senior Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar of Local Crime Investigation Branch were present on the occasion. The incident of breaking the locks of four closed houses at the same time and stealing valuables in Shripatinagar area of ​​Bhor city took place on January 13.

The crime was being investigated by the Local Crime Investigation Branch. Police examined the footage taken by CCTV cameras installed in the Shripatinagar area. Mane had come there five to six hours before the theft. He had inspected closed houses. After this, the police started looking for him. The investigation team got information that Mane has left for Pune from Shirwal by car. The police followed him. He was arrested by laying a trap in Sasewadi area. Mane’s name on the Aadhar card is Lakhan Ashok Kulkarni. He goes by the name Sachin Mane. Goods worth Rs 16 lakh 58 thousand including valuables and a car were seized from him.

Accused Mane has committed burglaries in Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra. More than 50 cases are registered against him. After committing theft in Karnataka, the court had sentenced him to seven years imprisonment.
