Thermal power plant in Kiev destroyed in Russian missile attack
Kiev: The Trypilska Thermal Power Plant (TPP) outside the Ukrainian capital has been completely destroyed in a Russian missile attack. The media has given this news quoting an official. Andrey Hota, chairman of the supervisory board of the Ukrainian power plant Centernergo, said on Thursday that a massive fire broke out in the plant’s turbine room after the attack, Xinhua news agency reported. “No employee has died in the attack. Efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing,” he said. Located 45 km south of Kyiv, Trypilska TPP is the largest power generating station in the Kyiv region with a capacity of 1,800 MW. The Ukrainian Air Force said that on Thursday morning, Russia fired 42 missiles. These included six Kinjal aeroballistic missiles and 40 combat drones. Ukrainian forces shot down 18 missiles and 39 drones.
