Theft of cable worth Rs 3 lakh, thieves raid water filter plant

Korba. Thieves attacked the water filter plant in the district late on Saturday night. Cables worth about Rs 3 lakh were cut and taken away. It is being told that a water treatment plant has been installed in Vikas Nagar to supply water to the colonies. The entire matter is of Kusmunda police station area.

In Vikas Nagar water filter plant, river water is filtered and clean water is supplied to the colonies of Kusmunda area. This system requires dozens of huge motors and thousands of meters of cable, which carry out this work through electric madam.

There are copper wires attached to the motor and cable, which are kept an eye on by thieves. The cables connected to this motor were cut and taken away. Employees were deployed in the plant, when the hooter sounded, they informed the departmental staff above them. By the time an employee quickly reached the plant, the thieves cut about 60 meters of cable and ran away.
