Theft from an abandoned house, 2 vicious thieves arrested

Raipur. The applicant Mukesh Kumar Prajapati lodged a report in the police station Tikrapara that he lives in a rented house in Moti Nagar Tikrapara, that the applicant had gone to Bhanthagaon to teach coaching after locking the house on 17.02.2024 at around 08.00 am. When the applicant returned at around 11.00 pm, he found that the lock on the door of the house was broken. When I went inside, I saw that the locker of the cupboard in the room was also broken. When I checked the things, I found that the silver chain and cash kept in the cupboard was missing. Some unknown thief broke the lock of the applicant’s deserted house and entered the room and stole the said Mashrooka which was kept in the cupboard. On which crime number 137/24 section 457, 380 Bhadvi has been registered against unknown accused in Tikrapara police station. The crime of was registered.

Taking the incident of theft seriously, Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police West Jai Prakash Carpenter, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Pitamber Singh Patel, City Superintendent of Police Old Basti Rajesh Chaudhary and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Dinesh Sinha in-charge Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Police Station Incharge Tikrapara were directed to trace and arrest the unknown accused as soon as possible. On which, under the direction of senior officers, the joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Tikrapara police station started making detailed inquiries of the nearby people including the applicant regarding the incident and locating the unknown accused. Along with inspection of the incident site by the team members, CCTV cameras installed in and around the incident site were also inspected. The footage from the cameras was observed. Efforts were being made by the team members to trace the unknown accused by employing informers in the case. During this time, the team members received important information regarding unknown accused involved in the incident. On which the team members caught Gautam Patre, a resident of Mahasamund Basna, and interrogated him strictly in connection with the incident. He confessed to committing the said incident of theft along with his partner Amar Kumar Behera. Both the accused were arrested and action was taken against the accused by seizing the stolen silver chain, ring and cash amounting to Rs. 23,000/-, the total value of which was approximately Rs. 25,000/-.
