The state government has given orders to shoot the miscreants at sight. Angry people pelted stones at the policemen, in which many policemen were injured. The miscreants also set fire to many vehicles. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has canceled all his programs. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called an emergency meeting at the CM residence in Dehradun.

Top officials of the government and police were present in the meeting. At the same time, all the officials of Kumaon division participated in the meeting virtually. Necessary instructions have been given to the police officers in the meeting by the CM. Along with this, Nainital district administration has imposed curfew in the riot affected area. Orders have been given to shoot the rioters at sight.

On Thursday, a mosque and a madrassa built on government land in the ‘Malik ke Bagh’ area of Haldwani were demolished, which was strongly opposed by the people. During this time there was a clash between the police and the local people. Some people also pelted stones at the police, in which many policemen also got injured.

The miscreants have also set fire to many vehicles. The situation in the area is tense. Heavy police force has been deployed in the city. The police is making every effort to control the situation. The administration says that they had earlier sent a notice to the mosque and madrassa operator, but even after the notice, they did not show any documents of the mosque and madrassa, after which this action was taken.
