The prices of many vegetables are touching the sky
Rising prices of tomatoes have been in the news for several days, but now more vegetables are also fueling inflation. In many states of the country, the prices of mangoes and special vegetables have become very expensive and the general public is not able to understand how to bear its cost. In many states even everyday vegetables are available at such high prices that it has become a problem for the people which vegetable to make – so that the budget does not get spoiled.
The prices of vegetables are on the sky in Patna
In Bihar’s capital Patna, cabbage and cabbage-like vegetables are available at a price of Rs 60 per kg. Not only this, now states like West Bengal and Odisha are also facing the cost of vegetables. According to a report in Times of India, the prices of vegetables have been increasing in Patna since the beginning of May. While the prices of tomatoes have seen the biggest jump, the prices of other vegetables are also increasing. The prices of vegetables ranging from cabbage to okra have almost doubled. Cabbage which was Rs 40 per kg in May is now Rs 60 per kg, cauliflower has increased from Rs 30-40 per kg to Rs 60 per kg. Potato and onion prices have increased from Rs 20 per kg in May to Rs 30-35 per kg in July.
Vegetables are expensive in West Bengal too
Other states include West Bengal where the prices of vegetables and fruits are increasing. According to a PTI report, the prices of vegetables have increased by 30-35 per cent in West Bengal. A week back green chillies which cost Rs 10. Now it is Rs 150 per kg. 300-350 per kg. Whereas, tomatoes are being sold at Rs 130-150 per kg.
Odisha is also in bad condition
In Odisha, the prices of vegetables have increased rapidly in the last 15 days. Tomatoes are priced at Rs 140-160 per kg while green chillies are priced at Rs 200 per kg. Ginger has become costlier to Rs 300 per kg.
People are upset in Delhi
Even in Delhi’s Sufal stores, the price of tomato is Rs 129 per kg and here people have stopped buying this vegetable.
What is the condition of Uttar Pradesh?
Similarly, the price of tomato has gone up to Rs 150 per kg in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Distressed by the rising prices of tomatoes, people have appealed to the government to do something in this matter so that the common people can get relief and at least they can get daily food at a reasonable price.
