The old man had reached the house of an acquaintance and was murdered

Raigarh. An old man was murdered in the district due to an old rivalry. The accused attacked the old man’s neck with an axe. Due to this the old man died on the spot. The incident is from Gharghoda police station area. According to the information, Mastram Sahu (75), a resident of village Bijari, had some problem in his eyes. He had to undergo an eye operation. On Saturday morning, he went to the house of Ramcharan Chauhan, a resident of the village, to get information about the doctor. Then Ramcharan’s younger brother Shivcharan reached there.
This led to a dispute between Mastram and Shivcharan over some old matter. Due to an old rivalry, Shivcharan attacked Mastram’s neck with an axe. After committing the crime, the accused Shivcharan fled from the spot.
After this, the matter was reported to Gharghoda police. Where Gharghoda police reached the spot and while searching for the accused Shivcharan, he was taken into custody from the village. During interrogation, the accused admitted to committing the murder due to an old rivalry. After which a crime was registered against the accused and he was produced in the court. From where he has been sent to jail on remand and further investigation is being done in the case.
