The method of registration will change in Bihar, the entire process will be online from August

Patna: There is news of great relief for the people buying and selling land and property in Bihar. Now they will not have to make repeated visits to government offices for registration. The state government is going to make the land and property registry process completely paperless in the state from next month i.e. August. Under this, the entire process of registration will be completed through digital medium in all the 145 registration offices of the state.
After the implementation of the new system, work related to land and property documents will be done online. This will not only make the process easier but will also increase transparency. The government believes that the digital system will save people’s time and reduce the problems in the registry process.
The state registration department has started work rapidly in this direction. It is being told that this month itself, about two dozen registration offices including Patna and Madhubani will be connected to the paperless system. After this, this system will be implemented in all the registration offices of the entire state from August.
At present, paper documents are required at several stages during land registry. People have to visit offices for applications, verification of documents and other processes. Under the new digital system, all these processes will be linked to the online platform.
According to officials, digital records of documents will be kept safe in the paperless registry system. This will make it easier to handle land related records and any information can be easily obtained in future. Having digital records will also reduce the possibility of documents being lost or tampered with.
The common people are expected to get the biggest benefit of this system. People buying land or property will now get relief from lengthy procedures and unnecessary delays. Due to the online process, work from application to verification of documents can be completed quickly.
The government aims to make the process of land registry more simple, secure and transparent. There have often been complaints of fraud and irregularities in records in land related matters. After implementation of digital system, it will help in controlling these problems also.
