The lives of 14 villagers in Niyad Nellanaar village have been transformed.

Raipur. Fulfilling Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s commitment to “good governance” and “inclusive development,” health facilities are being continuously expanded in the remote, Naxal-affected areas of Sukma district. As part of this initiative, the district administration and health department successfully treated 14 cataract patients, bringing new light into their lives.

Journey from remote villages to the Medical College

Under the government’s ambitious “Niyad Nellanaar” (Your Good Village) scheme, patients from inaccessible areas such as Mukarram, Patelpara, Sarpanchpara, and Kistaram villages in the Konta development block were identified through special health camps. These 14 identified patients were provided with special transportation by the district administration and sent to Jagdalpur Medical College for better treatment, where they underwent successful surgeries.

After the operations, all the patients were safely brought back to the Sukma District Hospital from Jagargunda and Kistaram under the care of eye assistants. According to the doctors, the patients will be kept under the supervision of specialists at the district hospital for the next four days for recovery and better follow-up. The district administration has made free arrangements for the patients’ accommodation and meals during this period.

This effort by the health department and the district administration demonstrates that through the Niyad Nellanaar scheme, government programs are no longer confined to paper, but are directly reaching the last person in the remote forest areas. The patients who received the health benefits expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, the Health Minister, and the district administration for this compassionate initiative.
