According to Reuters, a plane went off the runway and crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea, in which 28 people have been confirmed dead.

The report said that there were 175 passengers and 6 flight attendants on board the Jeju Air plane, the plane was returning from Bangkok and crashed while landing. The airport is in the southern part of South Korea. Pictures shared by local media show smoke coming out of the plane.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the plane slipped off the runway and collided with a fence. The incident took place at 9:07 am local time at the southwestern coastal airport. South Korea’s Acting President Choi Sung-mok has given instructions to speed up relief and rescue operations.
