Tamil Nadu: Union Minister of State L. Murugan stated that the BJP’s historic victory in the Maharashtra state and Thiruvananthapuram municipal corporation elections will have repercussions in Tamil Nadu.
L. Murugan told reporters at the BJP headquarters in Thyagaraya Nagar, Chennai, on Saturday:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Tamil Nadu on January 23rd. He will attend and address the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) public meeting in Madhurantakam, Chengalpattu district. All preparations are in full swing. Prime Minister Modi’s visit will confirm the formation of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Tamil Nadu. This public meeting will be the meeting that will send the DMK home. Similarly, all announcements regarding the parties in the alliance will be made at the same meeting.
The BJP achieved a historic victory in the recent municipal elections, not only in Mumbai but across Maharashtra. Similarly, as far as the southern states are concerned, Kerala achieved a landslide victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation for the first time. Therefore, the impact of the victories in Maharashtra and Thiruvananthapuram will be felt in Tamil Nadu as well.
AIADMK’s promises welcomed: On the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister MGR, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami made five promises to Tamil Nadu voters in the first phase. The BJP wholeheartedly welcomes this. Only implementable promises have been announced.
