The security forces have achieved great success in the ongoing campaign against Naxalites in Bastar division. In Bijapur district, the police conducted an operation at three different places and arrested six Naxalites including Naxalite commander Somaru Madvi. All these accused have been arrested and sent to jail.

This Naxalite was under police surveillance for a long time and with his arrest, the police has achieved a major success.
In the third operation, the force of Bijapur police station and DRG (District Reserve Guard) raided the Bandaguda-Gorna area and arrested four other Naxalites. The police have recovered explosive material, tiffin bombs, safety fuses and detonators from the possession of these Naxalites.
