The elderly man had hidden marijuana in his bed; he was apprehended based on a tip from an informant.

Durg. Police in Jamgaon M village of the district have arrested an elderly man for illegally trading in narcotics. The elderly man was buying and selling cannabis from his own home and hiding it on top of his bed. During a search, police seized 1.300 kilograms of cannabis and the money earned from its sale.

The case is from Amleshwar police station. According to the police, they received a tip-off that Sonai Prajapati, a resident of Jamgaon M village, was illegally storing and selling cannabis from his house. Taking the information seriously, a police team immediately planned an operation and surrounded the suspect’s house, apprehending him. The estimated value of the seized cannabis is approximately Rs. 65,000. Upon questioning, the suspect identified himself as Sonai Prajapati. Following due procedure, his house was searched. During the search, 1.300 kilograms of cannabis were recovered from a white and red cloth bag kept on top of a bed inside the house.

In addition, Rs. 12,950 in cash, earned from the sale of cannabis, was also seized. The total value of the seized items is estimated at Rs. 77,950.
