The collector flagged off the World No Tobacco rally

International No Smoking Day was organized on 31st May every year to create public awareness about the ill effects of smoking and drug abuse, so that the tendency of smoking and tobacco consumption among the general public can be effectively controlled. Collector Bipin Manjhi administered oath to the people participating in the rally to prevent drug abuse. After that, Collector Manjhi flagged off the International No Smoking Rally from the Government Boys High School playground.

The rally started from the playground and passed through Jayastambh Chowk, Sonpur Road and Municipal Council and ended back at the playground. The Collector praised the Health and Social Welfare Department for this event and appealed to everyone for signatures. In the program, District Program Manager of Health Department, Rajiv Baghel said that a tobacco control unit has been formed in the district, through which efforts are being made to prevent and create awareness about the ill effects of tobacco. During the program, SDM Abhayjit Singh Mandavi, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department Vaishali Mardwar, District Education Officer Lakhanlal Dhanelia, Himmat Singh Uike, Employment Officer ML Ahirwal and officers and employees of various departments were present.
