The Chief Minister inaugurated paddy storage warehouses: the foundation stone was laid for 10 modern warehouses.

Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday inaugurated three circular processing warehouse complexes constructed at a cost of ₹13.97 crore in Namakkal, Nilgiris, and Tiruvannamalai districts.

He also laid the foundation stone for 10 modern paddy storage complexes with roofed structures constructed at a cost of ₹332.46 crore in Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, Dindigul, and Krishnagiri districts.

In this regard, the Tamil Nadu government has issued a press release: The government is taking various steps to increase the number of warehouses and modernize foodgrain storage through the Tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Corporation.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the warehouse complexes with a total capacity of 7,000 metric tonnes, constructed at a cost of ₹13.97 crore, via video conferencing from the Secretariat.

Rice storage complexes with modern roofed structures are being set up so that not a single grain of rice produced and procured with the hard work of farmers is wasted.

1,00,000 MT capacity complex at Naduvoor village in Orathanadu taluk of Thanjavur district at a cost of ₹170.22 crore, 20,500 MT capacity complex at Tirukannapuram village in Nagapattinam district at a cost of ₹29.02 crore, 17,000 MT capacity complex at Mankudi village in Tirukkuvala taluk at a cost of ₹22.95 crore, 9,000 MT capacity complex at Parasalur village in Mayiladuthurai district at a cost of ₹12 crore, 21,000 MT capacity complex at Villianallur village in Tharangambadi taluk at a cost of ₹27 crore, 9,500 MT capacity complex at T. Pudaiyur village in Veppur taluk of Cuddalore district at a cost of ₹12.66 crore, 11,000 MT capacity complex… 15 crore rupees in Thazhanallur village, Thittakudi taluk; 12,000 metric tons for 17.91 crore rupees in Chengam village, Tiruvannamalai district; 9,000 metric tons for 12.85 crore rupees in Kovilampatti village, Palani taluk, Dindigul district; 9,000 metric tons for 12.85 crore rupees in Jujuppally village, Krishnagiri district; a total of 2,18,000 metric tons for 332 crore rupees. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of 10 modern rice storage complexes with roofed structures at a cost of 46 crore rupees.

Food Supplies Minister Ara Chakrabarni, Chief Secretary Na Muruganantham and departmental officials participated in the event.
