Punjab. A story has come to light in Punjab which is heart wrenching. Here the police have caught a Gay serial killer who killed 11 people within 18 months. This 33-year-old accused was a Gay sex worker. He used to commit the crime in the dark of night and was mainly active in Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Hoshiarpur districts of Punjab. He used to make people sit in the car on the pretext of giving lift, fix money with them and have sex with them. This is the story of 33-year-old Ram Saroop alias Sodhi, a resident of Chowda village of Garhshankar in Hoshiarpur, who committed crimes in 3 districts of Punjab in the last one and a half years. These include Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Hoshiarpur districts. The method of crime was the same.

The accused used to first ask for lift from people, then fix money and have sex with them and then kill them if he did not get the money. After this, to repent for the murder, he used to touch the feet of the dead body and apologize. According to the police, Sodhi was a sex worker. He targeted only men.

Recently, the accused Sodhi had relations with some people and killed them when they refused to give money or there was a dispute and then looted them. Police officials said that in most of the cases, the accused strangled them to death with his muffler, while in other cases some people had head injuries. The accused was initially arrested on August 18 in connection with the murder of 37-year-old Maninder Singh, who served tea and water at Toll Plaza Modra. During interrogation, Sodhi revealed that he had killed 10 more people. Police say that five of these cases have been confirmed, but investigation is going on to find out the rest of the murder cases.

According to the accused, after killing the victims, he used to touch their feet and apologize to them, because he regretted it. Sodhi used to commit the crime only after getting drunk. He does not remember the crimes committed while intoxicated. The accused was married and had three children, but two years ago his family threw him out of the house because he was homosexual.
