Thaveka government faces vote of confidence amid political turmoil in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu politics witnessed a significant development today when the state Assembly initiated the vote of confidence in favor of and against the Tamilaga Victory Party (THAVEKA) government. The process formally commenced with the assembly session at 9:30 a.m. The political atmosphere in the House was intense, with all major parties present.
After failing to secure an absolute majority in the recent assembly elections, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (THAVEKA) formed the government with the support of some regional and smaller parties.
