Thane: Woman and her lover arrested for murdering husband
Thane: Police in Maharashtra’s Thane district have arrested a 25-year-old woman and her 23-year-old lover for allegedly killing her husband and dumping his body in the creek, an official said on Friday. The body is yet to be traced but the Bhiwandi police on Thursday arrested the accused Anubhav Ramprakash Pandey and Radha Balram Mishra after gathering intelligence and technical information and speaking to the victim’s family members.
According to the police, the victim Balram alias Shekhar Laxman Mishra (27) lived with his wife Radha in Durgesh Park in Bhiwandi. But Radha maintained a love affair with Anubhav. The accused killed Balram with sharp weapons on August 7, after which they stuffed his body in a bag and dumped it in the Kasheli creek, police said. After the victim’s family lodged a complaint, the Narpoli police registered a case and started investigation, senior inspector Bharat Kamath said. Anubhav and Radha have been booked for murder under sections 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) and destruction of evidence under section 238, the official said.
