Terrorist organization plotting to target Imran Khan

Islamabad (IANS) | A confidential report by Pakistan’s Defense Ministry has revealed that a banned terrorist organization is planning to target former Prime Minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and other high-profile political figures. This information was given to the media on Sunday. Express News reported that reports have revealed that apart from Imran Khan, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah may also be targeted by hostile elements for disturbing peace in the country.

According to reports, the banned organization may attack Imran Khan during public rallies or agitations by ‘malicious religious fanatics’.

According to Express News, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or foreign-sponsored banned organizations may target the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

A classified Defense Ministry report submitted to the Supreme Court regarding elections in the two provinces has raised apprehensions of terrorist attacks on prominent political leaders including Imran Khan, Rana Sanaullah and Khawaja Asif.

The Samaa TV report said that the PTI chief could be targeted during his agitation or public rally, while he could also be targeted by religious extremists.

According to Sama TV, sensitive agencies have been asked to investigate Imran Khan’s security personnel.
