Telangana News: Speculations are rife that Talasani Srinivas Yadav will soon join Congress
Hyderabad. Hyderabad: There is speculation in Hyderabad’s political circles that former minister and Sanathnagar BRS MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav will soon join the Congress. Sources said that Srinivas Yadav is expected to join the Congress in the presence of MP Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders in New Delhi. Although some local Congress leaders are strongly objecting to Srinivas Yadav joining the Congress, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was lobbying for Srinivas Yadav in front of Rahul Gandhi and convinced him to let the Sanathnagar MLA join the Congress.
It is being told that Akhilesh Yadav also requested Rahul Gandhi to include Srinivas Yadav in the cabinet considering his political experience and his hold in Hyderabad. Akhilesh Yadav reportedly told Rahul Gandhi that Srinivas Yadav’s strong base and cadre support in the city will definitely help the Congress in the next GHMC elections. It is not clear what impact the ongoing investigation into the sheep scam will have, as Srinivas Yadav’s name is in the news in the case and his former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) K
Kalyan Kumar has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Apart from Kalyan, the ACB had also arrested Telangana Livestock Development Agency CEO Sabavat Ramchander a few weeks ago. The scam took place when Srinivas Yadav was the Animal Husbandry Minister during the previous BRS government. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also sought information related to the sheep scam case. Srinivas Yadav has been serving as Animal Husbandry Minister during the BRS government since 2019. He was elected MLA twice from Sanathnagar Assembly constituency. Earlier, he represented the Secunderabad Assembly constituency. He became MLA from Secunderabad Assembly constituency for the first time on a TDP ticket in 1994 by defeating Congress candidate Mary Ravindranath. He joined BRS in 2015.
