Telangana News: Prisoner demands CBI probe into phone tapping case

Hyderabad. Hyderabad: Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday demanded that the state government get the sensational phone tapping case in the state investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). In a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Sanjay said that the case should be handed over to the CBI in view of the gravity of the matter and the constitutional and democratic violations committed by those involved. “The Chief Minister should write to the CBI to investigate the matter keeping in mind the interests of the state. This step reflects the Chief Minister’s commitment to ensure a fair investigation of the case,” he said. Also, the Congress government should take necessary steps to withdraw the order issued by the previous BRS government restricting the entry of the CBI in the state.

Since former Chief Minister and BRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his son KT Rama Rao (KTR) had launched a cyber attack on opposition parties through phone tapping when the BRS was in power, the investigating agencies should issue notices to them and investigate their role in the case. The credibility of the state government would have increased if the state enforcement agencies had investigated the role of KCR and KTR. Sanjay said that many people were discussing that an attempt was being made to save KCR and his family from the case.

He urged Revanth Reddy to write a letter to the Assembly Speaker and disqualify KCR and KTR as MLAs as they have allegedly committed a serious crime by tapping the phones of opposition leaders, politicians and other influential people in the state.
