Telangana Congress celebrates victory in Karnataka

Hyderabad (IANS) | Party leaders and workers in Telangana on Saturday rejoiced and celebrated the victory of the Congress in Karnataka. Celebrations broke out at Gandhi Bhavan, the Telangana Congress headquarters, as soon as it became clear that the Congress was inching towards a majority in the Karnataka Assembly.

Party officials were seen dancing to the beats of drums. Party workers also attended the function, carrying party flags and cut-outs of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.

Excited Congress workers were also seen bursting crackers and distributing sweets. Some party workers took out a bike rally to celebrate the victory.

Congress in-charge of Telangana Manikrao Thakre, State Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy and other leaders performed ‘puja’ at the temple.

He expressed confidence that the Congress party would repeat this performance in Telangana, where elections are due later this year.
