Teenage girl who went to temple was kidnapped and then raped, accused arrested
Raigarh. Kotrarod police arrested the accused who lured and kidnapped a minor girl and raped her on the pretext of marriage and sent him on judicial remand under the POCSO Act. On January 7, a person resident of Lalunga police station area lodged a report of his minor daughter’s disappearance in Kotrarod police station. In the complaint, it was told that on January 2, the girl had gone to visit Kosmanara temple with her relative and after that disappeared without telling anyone. Police registered a case against the unknown accused under crime number 11/2025 section 137 (2) BNS and started investigation.
During the investigation, it was found that the girl was friends with Chandrashekhar Yadav (22 years), resident of Chuhipali, Jutmil police station, Raigarh. Kotrarod police showed promptness and raided the house of the accused, where the missing girl was recovered. On recording the statement by the lady officer, the girl said that Chandrashekhar Yadav lured her into marriage and took her away on a motorcycle and had physical relations with her.
The police got the girl medically examined and added sections 65(1), 87 BNS and 4, 6 POCSO Act in the case. After this, the accused Chandrashekhar Yadav was taken into custody. The accused confessed his crime. The black-blue motorcycle (CG 13 AR 0986) used in the incident was also seized. After the arrest, the accused was produced in the court and sent to jail on judicial remand.
Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shri Divyang Kumar Patel and guidance of Additional SP Akash Markam and continuous supervision of DSP Uttam Pratap Singh, Inspector Trinath Tripathi, Sub Inspector J. Ekka, Kusum Kaivart, Assistant Sub Inspector Dev Prasad Chauhan, Constable Chandresh Pandey, Rakesh Nayak and lady constable Shyama Sidar played an important role in catching the accused and solving the case.
