Tarn Taran: 2 drug smugglers arrested with more than 1 kg heroin

Sarai Amanat Khan police on Thursday arrested two drug smugglers near Chahal village and recovered 1.030 kg of heroin from their possession. The drug smugglers have been identified as Gurbhej Singh Bheja of Meherbanpur and Jagroop Singh of Walia Manjpur village in Amritsar district.

According to the information received, a police team led by ASI Satpal was on patrol in the area and saw the movement of two suspects riding an Activa near Chahal. Police stopped them and during search recovered heroin hidden in two packets. A case has been registered against the drug smugglers under sections 21-C, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act. The drug smugglers were produced in the court on Friday and sent on two-day police remand.
