Due to track maintenance work at Egmore railway station, Southern Railway has announced that the Vaigai Express train will be running late by about 1 hour on April 12. The Vaigai Express departed Egmore on Monday (April 13) afternoon with a 45-minute delay.
Following this, railway officials have announced that the train will run late by 45 minutes on Tamil New Year Tuesday (April 14).
Train routes diverted: Similarly, officials said that the Uzhavan, Ananthapuri, and Rameswaram Express trains, which had been diverted via Tambaram for the past few weeks due to track maintenance work at Egmore railway station, are now being rerouted via Egmore railway station. They also said that since maintenance work on platforms 10 and 11 at Egmore railway station is only carried out at night, there are no traffic problems during the day.
