According to railway officials, this initiative has been taken due to the high passenger demand on this route. The number of pilgrims traveling to religious sites increases, especially during the summer holidays, necessitating the need for such special trains.
This route between Thiruvananthapuram and Velankanni is considered crucial for religious and family travel. The Velankanni Church is a major pilgrimage site, attracting pilgrims from various parts of the country.
Southern Railway has appealed to passengers to take advantage of this special train service and plan their journeys in advance to avoid last-minute rush and inconvenience.
Following this announcement, a sense of relief is being seen among the travellers, especially those who are planning to visit this important religious place of South India during the summer season.
