Tamil Nadu: Shoranur-Coimbatore train cancelled due to maintenance work
Tamil Nadu: Train service to Coimbatore has been canceled due to the ongoing maintenance work on the railway line between Shoranur and Palakkad in Kerala. In this regard, Salem Railway Divisional Administration has given information by issuing an official press release. It has been told by the Railways that this temporary decision has been taken keeping in mind the improvement and maintenance work on the track, due to which some train services will be affected.
According to the Railway Administration, Shoranur – Coimbatore passenger train (Train No. 56604) scheduled to depart from Shoranur at 8:20 am on 9th will remain completely cancelled. This decision has been taken for safety reasons and with the aim of smoothly completing the necessary repair work on the track.
Salem Railway Division has clarified that regular maintenance work is being carried out on the railway line between Shoranur and Palakkad, which is essential for the safety and stable operation of the railway network. For this reason, the operation of trains on this route has been affected for some time.
This cancellation may cause temporary inconvenience to daily commuters, especially those who travel regularly between Shoranur and Coimbatore. Railways has appealed to the passengers to get information about the status of their train before travelling, so that any kind of problem can be avoided.
Railway officials say that after the completion of the maintenance work, all services will be normalized. This work has been targeted to be completed within the stipulated time, so that normal rail services can be provided to the passengers as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Railways has also said that the operation of other alternative trains is being monitored and additional arrangements can be made if needed. For the convenience of passengers, information is being continuously provided through information boards and announcements at the station.
The Railway Department has said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of passengers, because it is necessary to avoid any kind of risky situation during track maintenance work. The department has assured that after the completion of the repair work, the operation of trains on this route will be started smoothly as before.
