Tamil Nadu: Sale of iron-fortified salt at fair price shops

Tamil Nadu: To reduce anemia cases, steps have been taken to sell packets of double-fortified salt containing iron and iodine in fair price shops under the public distribution scheme.
Accordingly, coordinated consultative meetings are being held to implement the scheme. Several instructions are being issued to senior officials from the Public Welfare Department, Food Security Department, Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation, Tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Corporation, Public Health Department, National Welfare Board, and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
