Tamil Nadu: Rs 5,000 fine for littering on the beach

Tamil Nadu: The Chennai Corporation has warned that anyone found littering at places like Marina and other beaches will be fined ₹5,000.

An average of 4 metric tons of garbage is being removed from Chennai’s Marina and other beaches every day.

The Chennai Corporation has emphasized that beach cleanliness is everyone’s responsibility and warned that anyone found littering on the beach will be fined ₹5,000.

The Corporation also says that littering on the beach is tarnishing the city of Chennai’s reputation.
