Tamil Nadu: Political turmoil over power cuts, demand for transparent action from the government

Tamil Nadu: Political and social debate has intensified over the power outages in various areas of Tamil Nadu. T. Velmurugan, founder of the Vazhuvarimai Party, has appealed to the state government to take immediate and transparent action on the issue. He stated that the frequent power outages are affecting the daily lives of the general public and the government should take this matter seriously.

A government press release issued on Tuesday also acknowledged the hardships faced by people due to power outages in many parts of the state. It stated that children, the elderly, students preparing for exams, and small businesses are the most affected amid the intense heat. Frequent power outages are exacerbating the hardships faced by people at night.

T. Velmurugan questioned the real reason behind the prolonged power outages, as Tamil Nadu is known for its uninterrupted power supply. He stated that this situation is raising public suspicion, which cannot be ignored.

He demanded that the state government publicly clarify the real reasons behind the power cuts. He also stated that the unannounced power outages should be stopped immediately and a permanent solution should be found.

Velmurugan also stated that the government should maintain transparency in this matter to maintain public confidence. He alleged that if the reasons are not clarified in a timely manner, public dissatisfaction could increase.

On the other hand, administrative officials of the Electricity Department stated that supply is being affected in some areas due to technical reasons and increased demand. However, the department has assured that necessary steps are being taken to control the problem and efforts are being made to restore normalcy soon.

Residents in various parts of the state are also suffering from frequent power outages. The prolonged power outages during the summer season are impacting domestic work, education, and small businesses.

Political analysts say this issue could escalate in the coming days, as opposition parties and social organizations may also demand answers from the government. Growing dissatisfaction over a fundamental issue like power supply could pose a challenge for the government.

Meanwhile, the Vazhuvarimai Party has made it clear that it will continue to raise this issue and demand answers from the government until a permanent solution to power outages is found and transparent information is made available to the public.
