Tamil Nadu: Pokeline fare fixed at Rs 2,500 per hour

Tamil Nadu : The fare of Pokline has been fixed at Rs 2500 for the first hour on Sunday (June 1).

The Pokline owners have decided to increase the fare to prevent losses in business due to rising prices of diesel and spare parts, increase in vehicle prices, insurance premium and road tax.

According to this, district-wise strikes are being held across Tamil Nadu and new price hikes are being announced. More than 100 Pokline vehicles are stranded at Nallipalayam near Namakkal for the last three days and their owners are on strike. The strike ended on Saturday.

Balu, owner of Namakkal Bookline, said:

The fare of the power line has not been increased for the last 5 years. We used to charge Rs 1000 per hour. Due to the increase in diesel prices and the price of spare parts, we have been forced to increase the fare. According to this, the minimum fare is Rs 2500 per hour, above that Rs 100 per hour. He said that the fare hike will be implemented from Sunday and all people should cooperate in it.
