The Tamil Nadu Milk Agents and Workers Welfare Association has accused the association’s state president, S.A. Ponnusamy, of raising milk prices without notice.

Despite studying the serious impact of the milk price hike on the country’s milk production in the past two months before the onset of summer, the Tamil Nadu government’s Dairy Department has taken no action to increase milk production. Consequently, private companies are purchasing milk from producers at higher prices. Consequently, these companies have also increased selling prices. Milk production will be further impacted in April and May. They stated that the government should take appropriate action.
