Tamil Nadu: Materials ready for polling stations

Tamil Nadu: In Chennai, all items for polling stations, including stationery and stamps, have been dispatched and are ready at the election offices of each constituency.

4,085 polling booths have been set up across all 16 assembly constituencies in Chennai district. Arrangements have been made for 28.93 lakh voters to cast their votes.

Currently, 4,889 pallet units and 5,295 VVPAT devices are ready. Additionally, 5,554 more pallet unit devices have been installed.

Over 50 items, including documents, pens, pencils, thread for binding documents, needles, staples, sealing wax, candle holders, cloth, and small boxes, were purchased for polling stations and sent in batches in mini-vans on Saturday.

Accordingly, officials said they would be delivered to the respective polling stations from the Returning Officer’s office within a day or two.
