On Tuesday night, when he returned home from work, he bought a cake. He laced it with poison. That night, they cut and ate the cake, which had ‘Happy Family Day’ written on it. Only Sagayam did not eat the cake. After eating the cake, Beula
and both children vomited and fell unconscious. A short time later, Sagayam committed suicide by hanging himself.
Father-son deaths: Beula and daughter Evangeline, who had regained consciousness, called the police control room on their mobile phones. Sembium police arrived at the scene, rescued Beula and Evangeline, and sent them to Periyar Nagar Government Hospital. The bodies were removed and sent to Stanley Government Hospital, where a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
