Tamil Nadu: Heavy rain likely in 10 districts today

Tamil Nadu : The Chennai Meteorological Department has said that heavy rains are likely in 10 districts of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Press release issued by the Meteorological Department in this regard:
Due to the atmospheric circulation prevailing over the South Indian regions, moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are likely at many places in North Tamil Nadu, a few places in South Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas from Wednesday (June 11) to June 16.
Heavy Rain Warning: Heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai districts and Puducherry on June 11. Similarly, heavy rains are likely in Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, Tenkasi, Tiruvallur and Ranipet districts on June 12.
Rainfall: The highest rainfall in Tamil Nadu till Tuesday morning was recorded in Chennai Manali at 80 mm. Besides, Perambalur received 70 mm, Kollidam (Mayiladuthurai), Bellandur (Cuddalore), Lalapettai (Cuddalore), Kothwacheri (Cuddalore) received 60 mm rainfall each. Rainfall was recorded,
Hot weather: Despite widespread rains in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, the maximum temperature was 5 degrees Celsius above normal at some places. The highest temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit was recorded at Madurai airport. Madurai city – 102.56, Chennai Meenambakkam, Erode, Thoothukudi – (each) 102.2, Paramathi Vellore – 101.3, Trichy – 101.66, Palayankottai – 100.4 degrees.
Fishermen’s warning: Meanwhile, from June 11 to June 14, winds can blow at a speed of up to 65 km per hour in the coastal areas of South Tamil Nadu, Gulf of Mannar, Kumari Sagar and Bay of Bengal. Due to this, fishermen have been advised not to go fishing.
