Tamil Nadu has the lowest poverty rate in the country: CM proud

Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin stated that Tamil Nadu has become the state with the lowest poverty rate in the country and the second-largest economy.
A ceremony was held at the Chennai Women’s Christian College on Tuesday to thank the Chief Minister on behalf of the All India Christian Higher Education Association. Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said:
This event has instilled a greater sense of responsibility to provide more for minorities. We will fulfill the remaining demands when we come to power next time.
After the DMK government came to power, a major scheme, the Innovative Girls Scheme, was implemented to prioritize girls’ education. Under this scheme, girls studying in government schools and enrolling in college are given ₹1,000 per month. This scheme has led to a 34 percent increase in girls’ enrollment in higher education. 800,000 girls have benefited from this scheme.
7.5% Reservation: Under the previous government, a 7.5% internal reservation was introduced for government school students only in medical studies. However, it was announced that 7.5% reservation for government school students was added to courses such as engineering, agriculture, law, and veterinary medicine, and the government would also cover tuition and hostel fees. This has cost ₹911 crore over the past five years for 40,613 students. More than 1.9 million school students are benefiting from the breakfast scheme.
On the Path to Development…: In the 1950s, Tamil Nadu was one of the poorest states in the country. But now it has become a state with less poverty. It has emerged as the country’s leading state and second-largest economy. In the last six months, two major car companies have opened in Tamil Nadu. Following this, Ford will resume production. In addition to competing with other states, Tamil Nadu is also competing with countries around the world. This is due to Tamil Nadu’s focus on education.
Tamil Nadu has the highest number of women working in factories in India. This number should increase further. Tamil Nadu is the first state in the country to launch a cervical cancer vaccination program for girls aged 14 years. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said the government is providing this vaccine worth Rs. 14,000 free of cost.
Lok Sabha member Dayanidhi Maran, Assembly members Dr. Ezhilan, Inigo Irudayaraj, and others participated in the ceremony.
