Tamil Nadu: Governor’s security vehicles reduced, now four instead of 10

Tamil Nadu: A press release issued by the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan stated that the number of police vehicles deployed for the security of Governor V.R.L. Orlekar (Modi) has been reduced. This decision was taken following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the countrymen to reduce the use of petrol and diesel.

According to the Governor’s office, following the Prime Minister’s appeal, Tamil Nadu Governor V.R.L. Orlekar himself suggested changes to his security arrangements. The decision to reduce the number of security vehicles was subsequently implemented. This move is said to be aimed at saving fuel and better utilizing resources.

The press release stated that previously, the Governor used approximately 10 police security vehicles during his travels to attend official events, government meetings, and private events. These vehicles were used to travel to and from various locations as part of his security arrangements.

The number of these vehicles has now been reduced to four, as part of the security changes. This means that fewer vehicles will be deployed for the Governor’s security than before, which will also reduce fuel consumption.

A statement issued by the Raj Bhavan also stated that this decision was taken symbolically to promote fuel conservation and responsible use of resources. It aims to convey the message that even those in high positions should take initiatives to conserve resources in the national interest.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently appealed to the countrymen to use petrol and diesel judiciously and sparingly, thereby saving energy resources and having a positive impact on the environment. The Governor’s Office has made this change in its security system in furtherance of this message.

According to administrative sources, this decision to reduce security has been taken as part of a complete restructuring and fuel-saving policy, without compromising on safety standards. Necessary modifications have been made to ensure that the security system remains effective even with fewer vehicles.

This decision is also being discussed in political and administrative circles. Some are calling it a symbolic move, while others believe it sends a message to other government institutions to use resources sparingly and judiciously.

Overall, this reduction in the number of security vehicles for the Tamil Nadu Governor is being seen as an administrative initiative towards fuel efficiency and resource management, reinforcing the message of energy conservation at the government level.
