Tamil Nadu: The Chennai Meteorological Department has stated that frost is likely in the Nilgiris and Kodaikanal hill areas of Tamil Nadu during the morning and night of Friday (December 19).
In this regard, the Chennai Meteorological Department issued a press release on Thursday: Due to a low-level circulation over South Kerala and adjoining areas, northerly winds are likely to prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from Friday (December 19) to December 24. Light fog is expected in one or two places during the morning hours.
In Chennai and its surrounding areas, the sky will be partly cloudy on Friday. Light fog will be observed in one or two places during the morning.
Frost Warning: Frost is likely in one or two places in the Nilgiris district and Kodaikanal hill areas (Dindigul district) during the morning and night of Friday.
Rainfall: In Tamil Nadu, during the 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM on Thursday, the highest rainfall of 140 mm was recorded in Nalumukku and Oothu areas of Tirunelveli district. Kakkachi (Tirunelveli) recorded 120 mm, Manjolai (Tirunelveli) 110 mm, R.S. Mangalam (Ramanathapuram) 60 mm, Paramakudi (Ramanathapuram) and Ilayangudi (Sivaganga) 40 mm each, Kalugumalai (Thoothukudi), Papanasam (Tirunelveli), Sattur (Virudhunagar), and Mudukulathur (Ramanathapuram) 30 mm each.
