Tamil Nadu: Drinking water supply will be suspended in 3 zones tomorrow.

Tamil Nadu: Piped drinking water supply will be temporarily suspended in three zones – Teynampet, Kodambakkam, and Adyar – on Friday and Saturday (January 30 and 31).

A press release issued by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) stated that the work on the main drinking water pipeline connection at Uttamar Gandhi Salai in Nungambakkam will begin at 10 am on Friday (January 30) and continue until 10 am on January 31.

Consequently, piped drinking water supply will be temporarily suspended in the following areas: Choolaimedu, Valluvar Kottam, Ayiravilakku, Nungambakkam, Thyagaraya Nagar, Gopalapuram, CID Colony, Mylapore, Nandanam, and Alwarpet in the Teynampet zone; Vadapalani, West Mambalam, and Kodambakkam in the Kodambakkam zone; and Saidapet in the Adyar zone.

Therefore, residents are advised to store drinking water as a precaution. The release also stated that water tankers can be booked for emergency needs through the website [website address – please provide the correct website address if available].
