Tamil Nadu: Admissions for veterinary and technology courses to begin from May 25

Tamil Nadu: Online application registration for admission to undergraduate veterinary medicine courses and other related technical degree programs in Tamil Nadu will begin next Monday, May 25th. This admission process will be conducted under the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, which admits students for the academic session at various veterinary and technical colleges in the state.

A total of seven veterinary colleges operate under this university, located in Chennai, Namakkal, Tirunelveli, Orathanadu, Salem Thalaivasal, Udumalaipettai, and Theni Veerapandi. All of these colleges offer a five-and-a-half-year Veterinary Medicine and Care course. A total of 660 seats have been allocated for this course, which will be filled under the PVSC AH category. This course is related to veterinary science, providing training in animal care, disease diagnosis, treatment, and animal health management.

The admission process for all these colleges will be conducted entirely online. Candidates will be able to apply from the due date, and the registration process will be completed through the university’s official website. The objective of veterinary education is to prepare experts who can contribute to animal health services and strengthen veterinary facilities in rural and urban areas.

In addition, the College of Food and Dairy Technology, located in Goduveli, Tiruvallur district, will also begin admissions for various technical courses. 40 seats are available for the B.Tech Food Technology degree course, while 20 seats are reserved for the B.Tech Dairy Technology course. Both courses are related to food processing, dairy production, and technical management, and aim to provide students with modern technical knowledge and industry-based skills.

Similarly, the College of Poultry Production and Management, located in Hosur and Madigiri, is offering a B.Tech in Poultry Technology degree course. This course has 40 seats. This four-year degree program provides students with detailed knowledge of poultry production, management, and technical aspects. The objective of this course is to develop skilled professionals in the poultry industry who can contribute to both production and management.

All B.Tech courses are four years long, while the Veterinary Medicine and Care course is five and a half years long. Once online registration begins, students will be able to apply from home, and all information related to the admission process will be available on the official portal. The application process will be completely digital, providing convenience to students and maintaining transparency.

The primary objective of this entire admission process is to develop skilled human resources in fields such as veterinary medicine, food technology, dairy technology, and poultry production. This is expected to strengthen industries and services related to these sectors in the state.
