Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the saree walkathon, encouraged the municipal corporation workers

India’s first saree walkathon was organized in the courtyard of Surat to create awareness about fitness among the women of Surat. Mini India was reflected in this saree walkathon. Women from different states of Gujarat participated in the walkathon wearing saris. Women from different states living in Surat participated in this walkathon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has liked this Surat event very much and he praised the event on Twitter and also encouraged the organizers and the participating women. The Prime Minister has said, saree is the identity of Indian culture, after his tweet Surat municipality also thanked the Prime Minister by tweeting.

Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh tweeted for the Saree Walkathon organized in Surat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tweet on this tweet has made the Saree Walkathon in Surat famous across the country. In a tweet, the Surat Saree Walkathon attempted to popularize the tradition of Indian clothing. The enthusiasm of the Surat Municipality has doubled with this tweet of the Prime Minister.

Saree Walkathon was organized for the first time in the country by the Commissioner of Surat Municipal Corporation, Shalini Agarwal. In which Saree Walkathon was organized for the first time in the whole country by Surat Municipal Corporation and Surat Smart City Limited. The event was a great success with more than 10,000 women enthusiastically participating in the 3 kilometer walkathon. This saree walkathon, organized by the administration of Surat Municipal Corporation to implement the slogan of fitness among women including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India-Make in India, has now shone at the national level.
