Surat : AM/NS India celebrates “Fire Service Week”

AM/NS India, a joint venture of two of the world’s leading steel producers ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, celebrated “Fire Service Week” in Hazira by organizing a series of events from 7th to 14th April to promote fire safety. Celebrated.

On April 14, 1944, 66 firefighters lost their lives fighting a massive fire at the Bombay Dockyard. Firefighters Day is celebrated on 14th April across the country to pay tribute to those sacrifices and to tell about fire prevention measures. Several programs were organized on the occasion of National Fire Service Day. The theme of this year’s Fire Safety Week is “Awareness in Fire Safety for Growth of National Infrastructure (AGNI)”.

AM/NS India celebrates Fire Safety Week every year by organizing various events to increase awareness about fire safety among employees and associates.

AM/NS India organized several events during the week including competitions to determine the best departments in fire prevention, fire safety quiz, tabletop scenario-based emergency preparedness and response.

As part of celebrating ‘Fire Safety Week’, a visual-based Group Practical Fire Fighting Competition was also organized. At the end of the competition, prizes and certificates were awarded to the participants. Special Appreciation Awards were also given to various individuals for their contribution towards best practices of emergency preparedness and fire prevention.

Closing Ceremony of Fire Service Week

Santosh Mundhada, Executive Director – Projects, Hazira, AM/NS India and Baiju Masrani, Head – Operations, Hazira, AM/NS India were the chief guests at the closing ceremony of the Fire Service Week.

Capt. (IN) Sujoy Kumar Ganguly, Head of Security, Vigilance and Fire Services, AM/NS India, Hazira said, “At AM/NS India, along with the commitment to provide a safe working environment, employee safety is of paramount importance. Due to the high awareness level and sense of ownership among the employees in the matter of safety, AM/NS India has almost perfect track record in the matter of fire safety.
