Supply of substandard goods in Anganwadi, 6 supply agencies blacklisted

Raipur. Raipur. Taking seriously the complaints of substandard goods supplied for children and women in Anganwadi centers, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade has taken immediate action and blacklisted six supply agencies. These agencies are accused of supplying poor quality goods. Based on the report of the state level investigation committee, the agencies against which action has been taken are M/s Namo Enterprises, M/s Ayush Metal, M/s Urban Suppliers, M/s Manidhari Sales, M/s Oriental Sales and M/s Sonchiriya Corporation.
These agencies have been blacklisted from the GeM portal and will be ineligible for any government supply in future. The department clarified that no payment was made on the supply of substandard goods and the material has been made available as per the standards by taking back the goods from the agencies. The investigation committee included representatives of Joint Director (Finance), CSIDC and GEC Raipur as well as experts from two technical inspection agencies SGS India and IRCLASS Systems. The committee visited Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Jashpur, Surguja and Janjgir-Champa districts and submitted the report after conducting physical tests.

The grain warehouse was not found to be in accordance with BIS standards.
Difference in size and weight of steel trays
The quality of tawa and kadhai was very low
Some tables were not assembled, which were later repaired.
The department clarified that in the year 2024-25, material worth Rs 23.44 crore was purchased through the Gem portal, not Rs 40 crore as rumours are being spread. It was also told that the entire process was transparent and payment was made only after quality check. This strict action of the Women and Child Development Department makes it clear that any kind of compromise with the nutrition and convenience of children and women will not be tolerated.
