Superfast Express train’s engine gets detached, Runs without coaches in Odisha

Jaleswar: Five coaches of the Puri-Howrah Superfast Express train detached from the engine near Nekurseni railway station on West Bengal border late Saturday night. The passengers were all safe, said sources.

According to sources, the train engine detached from the coaches and run for over 500 meters after which it stopped.

Though no one was injured in this incident, it triggered panic among passengers.

The Railway officials immediately rushed to the spot and reattached the bogies to the train running from Puri district of Odisha to West Bengal’s Howrah.

The train was finally fixed and left the station after five hours following the completion of the necessary repair work.
